Direct Care Staff-Weekends

Frederick, MD/Annapolis, MD

Job Description

Direct Care Staff provides care and support for up to four adults with developmental disabilities who live in one of our community-based residential homes.   There are immediate full and part time schedules.  We offer round the clock shifts (6a-2p; 2p-10p; 10p-6a) which can be combined to get full time hours.  

Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life.
  • Assists individuals in the development of friendships and other relationships.
  • Assists individuals to become an active participant in their community and to build natural support networks.
  • Helps maintain a family-style household, which includes cooking balanced meals according to clients' needs and preferences and maintaining house cleanliness.
  • Attend to the individual needs of each person, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, or other needs in keeping with their care requirements.
  • Support and encourage participation in the community, including going on recreational and social outings.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no more than 5 points.
  • Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Must display a positive attitude when interacting with others.

House Manager

Program Manager

Windsor Mill, MD

Job Description

The Program Manager provides outstanding management of, leadership to, and support for a caseload of employees who support individuals and families throughout the agency. The Program Manager directly supervises Direct Support Professionals who provide 1:1 support to people with developmental disabilities in our residential program. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring loving care focused on individualized person-centered supports.  Community Services focuses on supporting people in participating in all aspects of community life, including teaching activities of daily living and social and recreational activities.

In addition to providing outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, the Program Manager completes all administrative duties for the caseload including investigating and documenting any reports of injury and incident, participating in program and team meetings, and providing timely and accurate documentation related to the individualized Person-Centered Plans.

This position requires an experienced, independent professional, and developed leader who works well within a team environment. A history of successful supervisory experience and strong leadership skills are required.  

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred
  • At least two years of supervisory experience is required
  • Must have a current driver’s license with no more than 5 points.
  • Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual’s strengths and capabilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the health and well-being of each person supported.
  • Provides management for each employee under their supervision.
  • Provides training, guidance, and support to staff on an on-going basis
  • Maintains accurate documentation and ensures injury and incident reports and other organization records are completed and implemented, and that action is taken as necessary
  • Assesses individuals’ homes are safe work environments for employees.
  •   Provides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life, including choice in all aspects of their lives, the development of friendships and other relationships, & becoming active participants in their communities
  • Ensures individualized plans (including behavior plans and medication plans, if applicable) are up-to-date and accurately reflect each individual on the supported caseload.
  • Acts as a Direct Support Professional in the event a need arises.

Full-Time Direct Care Staff-Day Shift

Direct Care Staff - Evenings

Job Description

We seek Direct Care Staff to provide loving care for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes and/or in a community setting. The title of Direct Support Professional covers the full scope of positions and roles in our residential program and can be full or part-time.  In addition to providing direct support and loving care, our Direct Care Staff teach the people we support independent living skills, plan community-based activities, and implement individual program plans.  

We are currently looking for FULL-TIME and PART-TIME staff to work in the Windsor Mill area.
